Elvis got his first guitar at the age of 11. It was January 8th, 1946. Despite being poor, he had been given a few dollars to pick up a birthday present. He wanted a rifle but he couldn’t afford it. His mom tried convincing it to get a guitar and that she would pay the difference for it. They purchased it for $7.75 and the rest is history.
